I have to admit that I don’t really get into the winter Olympics, but this year I find myself incredibly dedicated to the sport of curling. And it’s not just me! Anytime I’ve been out to a restaurant or bar in the past week, there are always people with their eyes glued to the tv if curling is on. Last Friday we had a huge group of people cheering on the women of Denmark as they battled the Canadians. Denmark lost. Here are some of the reasons I’ve come to love the beautiful sport of curling:

1. The women. Make sure you pick up a calendar.

2. The mens’ accuracy is unbelievable. So fun to watch and very impressive!

3. I love how there’s no referee standing on the ice with the players keeping score. They keep each other honest and, once the players know the outcome, they just clear the ice themselves immediately. It’s like when you’re playing euchre and one player has the last two highest trump and everyone just kinda throws their cards on the table.

4. Great accessories! The brooms… the gliding shoes… the shiny, polished massive stones. I love ‘em all.

5. Each game is made up of “ends.” That’s awesome.
