Grzimek’s Animal Life

1.25.2010 | 0 Comments

Grzimek’s (pronounced “chi-mix”) Animal Life was the first project I worked on at Gale/Cengage Learning. We took an existing animal encyclopedia and turned in to a website. I had a lot of freedom with this design and was really pleased with how the header turned out. I was also responsible for creating the HTML/CSS for the website templates.

I designed and built this website for a great copywriter based out of Atlanta, GA. Clearly, the Ishihara Color Test was the inspiration for this design. The top-level navigation here is one of my favorites that I had designed in a while.

Jumpgate Evolution is a space-based MMORPG, so of course I had some really cool artwork to start with for this design. This website was a microsite that would be used to get users to sign up for the beta release of the game. I was responsible for the design and HTML/CSS.

Fancy Lad Music

Another website for a group of very talented musicians. These guys create custom music for film and advertising. I love working with textures in web design. I handled the design, HTML/CSS, and integrated their music into a Flash player.

Sea of Japan is a group of very talented musicians and I designed this one-page website to promote their album Black Out the Stars. Make sure you download the record… it’s free! I again had the pleasure of working with Brian Berryman’s drawings to use in this design, but was also responsible for the HTML/CSS and integrating their music into a Flash player.

Michigan College Guide

This had been a print-only publication for years, but I always felt — during my time at Detroit Media Partnership — that the Michigan College Guide would be a perfect online product. While championing this product, I was also responsible for the design and HTML/CSS.

Your Face is a Blog

Featuring the awesome drawings of Brian Berryman, I collaborated with a team to create this website design. I then took this design worked it into an existing Wordrpess template. This was my first WordPress site I had worked with and I vowed to never look back.
